It may look like Little Napoleon and Mighty Mite are shaking hands, but symbolically they're passing the torch of greatness. McGraw's dominance was about to give way to Huggins' ascension as the Yankees would topple the Giants for their first championship in franchise history—and the first of three titles during Huggins' relatively brief tenure. Date-stamped "OCT 11 1923" (a 4-2 Yanks win in Game 2 with 2 Ruth HRs), the 6-1/2 x 8-1/2" photo displays a Pictorial Press stamping and routine light peripheral wear from newsroom usage.
