When DE Lionel Aldridge was still on top of the world, before falling victim to schizophrenia and homelessness, he received this sample photo pack from the Williams Advertising company. Teammates Starr, Nitschke, Taylor, Adderley, Davis, Wood, Jordan and Robinson highlight the near set, which, curiously, is missing only Aldridge himself and Hornung. NM central image areas with perimeter wear including some instances of upper-left surface bumps. Accompanied by the heavily weathered original envelope and Williams Advertising's 3/13/67 letter (heavy left-edge wear) addressed to Aldridge. More on our website.
The letter reads, "Please accept with our compliments this complete set of Packer Portraits of the majority of the 1966 World Champion Football Team. Let's hope that this proves to be a profitable venture. So far, it looks very promising. Except for testing purposes, these portraits have had very little exposure in this area. We have great hopes for their salability next fall. If you have any questions pertinent to the use of these portraits, please do not hesitate to call us."
