As he posted his sixth of a World Series record seven straight complete game victories, Bob Gibson outdid even himself in the opener of the 1968 Fall Classic, fanning 17 Detroit batters in besting 31-game winner Denny McLain. Encapsulated and assessed “Authentic” by PSA, this full ticket was issued at Busch Stadium for that memorable October performance. One of only 12 graded, this colorful voucher features printed seating/event details, a Cardinals team logo and images of the (then) new stadium and Arch landmark. While adhesive remnants on an otherwise clean reverse account for the technical grade, this keepsake flaunts bold colors, sharp edges/corners and strong perforations.
