Detailed description on website.
Hardly content at having reached the 500 home run milestone late in the 2007 season, Alex Rodriguez maintained a blistering longball pace in 2008, surpassing Ted Williams, Frank Thomas, Willie McCovey, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle and Mike Schmidt. Perhaps the most significant of those mileposts was home run No. 536, which was launched on July 6, 2008 at Yankee Stadium to tie Bronx legend Mickey Mantle for 14th on the all-time list. An elated A-Rod complied in autographing a base used in that historic game! Used as first base from the fifth through 10th innings that day, this 15x15 thick rubber item features a grooved surface and is signed by Rodriguez in black marker (“7” strength) and inscribed “GAME USED 7-6-08 HR 536.” The base was crafted by the “Hollywood Base” plant and shows tremendous game use with dirt caked about the crevices. On opposite edge panels are Yankee Stadium “final season” logo inserts and MLB silhouette logo “I Live For This” inserts. Accompanying is a PSA/DNA sticker (for autograph) and holograms from MLB Authentication and Steiner Sports.
