Detailed description on website.
Following a play stoppage of unprecedented length, America welcomed baseball back with open arms, immediately forgetting the 49-day hiatus and turning its collective eye to the 1981 Mid-Summer Classic (albeit “late summer” in this case) in Cleveland. This salesman’s sample ring was crafted for Reds third baseman Ray Knight in anticipation of an appearance that never came to fruition. The size “12-1/2” Balfour Celestrium accessory features a blue stone at the facing with “BASEBALL” and “ALL STAR” lining opposite outer sides in raised letters and “NATIONAL” and AMERICAN” engraved identifiers on the inner sides. The adjacent sides are each home to (3) simulated diamonds. The left shank features relief designs of the American and National League crests, as well as the MLB silhouette logo. On the right shank, “KNIGHT” is engraved on a scroll design with the event logo lust below and “CLEVELAND” in raised characters at the bottom.
