Description



A Murderers' Row member who played for the Yankees in the 1927 and 1928 World Series, catcher Benny Bengough went on to a lengthy coaching career with the Phillies and was instrumental in their Whiz Kids success. While in Philadelphia, he received this award composed of a 12x18 wood backing, 8-1/2"-square Stuart Austin quartz clock and 8x5 plaque reading, "BENNIE BENGOUGH / PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES COACH / IN RECOGNITION OF HIS MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARD AN OUTSTANDING SEASON / FROM GRANVILLE 'GRANNY' HAMNER."
