Well on his way to a date in Cooperstown, Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter launched a pair of home runs the day after his 30th birthday as the Yankees authored a twinbill sweep of the Mets in the Bronx. This OML baseball was used during that doubleheader opener and subsequently autographed by Jeter. The sphere shows the effects of game use (including traces of Lena Blackburne Rubbing Mud) and is signed on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint (“7-8” strength) with an inscription reading “6-27 2 HR 2 RBI.” LOA from Steiner Sports.
NOTE: We have contacted Steiner Sports about this piece, with regards to the LOA stating that it is a temporary LOA and a more definitive LOA would be forthcoming. According to Steiner Sports and the people who ran Yankees Steiner at the time, this is absolutely 100% legitimate, but they never ended up issuing and any further LOA's for these items.
