Description

Tops tier talent and well played games solidified the AFL’s hold on pro football fans, forcing a merger with the long-standing NFL. While the rival leagues were planning their 1970 union there were still separate championships to be determined. Show your determination by tackling this important collection of football programs featuring the best teams of the late 1960s and one the greatest games of all-time, the 1967 “Ice Bowl”. Detailed description on our website.

The complete list of included programs is as follows:

12/26/65 AFL Championship Game from Balboa Stadium with San Diego Chargers vs. Buffalo Bills (EX) with excellent gloss and gorgeous Chargers team photo cover, only minor spine erosion prevents a higher grade assessment, additional clippings are included

1/2/66 NFL Championship Game from Lambeau Field with Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns (VG-EX) with 2” section of spine chew, otherwise cover is very attractive with bold colors and desirable gloss

12/31/67 NFL Championship Game from Lambeau Field “Ice Bowl” with Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys (EX-MT) with very appealing cover and only minor spine wear and a small corner crease blocking a NM grade, considered one of the greatest games of all-time, this game was played in extreme cold so bad that caused the death of an elderly fan, frostbite among the players and sent members of a marching band to the hospital with hypothermia, the Packers triumphed with a last minute scoring drive against a highly talented Cowboys team to earn their third straight title

1/1/67 NFL Championship Game from the Cotton Bowl with Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay packers (EX) with exciting cover photos of QBs Bart Starr and Don Meredith

12/29/68 AFL Championship Game from Shea Stadium with New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders (GD-VG) due to a 3” section of spine chew, otherwise shows VG-EX details, two weeks after this game the Jets shocked the football world by beating the legendary Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III

12/29/68 NFL Championship Game from Cleveland Municipal Stadium with Baltimore Colts vs. Cleveland Browns (EX) with a nice array of game action and individual player interior photos
