According to the accompanying 8/30/96 purchase LOA, "12th Man, a firm that used this prototype to get a license granted by the NHL, made this sterling silver ring, with a yellow toned rectangular center. Inside the ring is stamped, 12th Man and NHL-92 in anticipation of getting approval for a mass production to be offered to their fans. According to the Hockey League Offices in New York City, the company never completed their application requirements and a license was never issued or obtained.
