In the era pre-dating Olympic rosters with NBA players, the 1984 USA squad was the last “amateur” installment to win a Gold Medal, pummeling eight straight opponents with a 32.1-point average margin of triumph. During a July 13, 1984 exhibition (ironically, against an NBA assembly), this ball was autographed by (12) members of the iconic Olympic club. The full-size “Game Master” ball showcases black marker signatures that take well to the dimpled surface (average “8” strength). Includes: Steve Alford, Johnny Dawkins, Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan, Joe Kleine, Chris Mullin, Sam Perkins, Chuck Person, Alvin Robertson, Waymin Tisdale, Jeff Turner and Leon Wood. Full photo LOA from JSA. More on our website.
Of note is that Dawkins and Person were among the final four players cut from the team by coach Bobby Knight. Impeccable provenance comes in the form of an LOA from Dr. John Krebs, who served as the Milwaukee Bucks team dentist and obtained these autographs at the aforementioned exhibition at Milwaukee’s MECCA Arena.
For the sake of accuracy, we report that this ball inflates to approximately 90%, though presents as though fully inflated.
