On paper, the 111-43 Cleveland Indians appeared unbeatable in the 1954 World Series. On the field, Willie Mays had other ideas, setting the tone for a colossal upset as he robbed Vic Wertz of extra bases to spark the Giants to a Game 1 win and subsequent sweep. This limited edition (22/154) black-and-white photo captures Mays making that improbable catch. Framed to 23-1/8 x 27-1/8”, the 16x20 print is signed by Mays in silver marker (“9” strength) and inscribed “The Catch – 1954 N.L. M.V.P. – 1954 World Series Champs.” Steiner hologram.
