Description

The subject of poetry composed by Grantland Rice, iconic running back Red Grange ruled the gridiron, starred in silent films and found a niche as a motivational speaker. It’s only natural that during his career, Grange was an ideal spokesperson for retail football equipment. This 1920s “Wilson” football box hawks a pigskin endorsed by the University of Illinois product. Measuring 6-3/8 x 13”, the cardboard container features a lid with a football motif and a black-and-white photo of Grange. The well-preserved relic shows minor corner/edge wear.
